LED Bulbs

LED Bulbs
Just ordered a full set of LED bulbs for my car (every external light except the headlights) and was wondering if any1 else has used them and what they thought of them and if they had any problems.

Bear in mind that if they're not e-marked, they're not road-legal.
Saying that, it'd have to be a miserly copper to pull you up on it (I don't think they would) but it's worthy of note.
My experiences with them have been (on the whole) really good.
Few problems with idicators ticking at the wrong speed on an old Triumph , but seem fine on most modern cars.

thanx for that steve,
mainly want to use them for the clear indicators- silver tec bulbs seem expensive for wat they r and for half the price u can get a LED bulb that shuld in theory outlive the car, draw less power and b alot brighter.

Other thing to be careful of is that the LEDs illuminate the fresnel lens, but not the reflector. This isn't a problem on small indicators, but on some of the larger lenses you get an "orange dot" as opposed to the whole lens flashing, though I am being picky

I tried a pair of tail / stop lights in my classic - looked great but they caused the ABS warning lamp to be on all the time - so they had to go back. Something to do with lower power consumption.

Don't know if the ABS system test was just lighting up the warning lamp to say there was a problem (when there really wasn't) or if it stopped the ABS working altogther. I did make me think that braking performance had been impaired although it may have just been me getting paranoid.
Either way - the standard bulbs had to go back in.
Was gutted actually - the LEDs lit up the whole of the lens a lot more evenly rather than a little hotspot that can be seen with a normal bulb - doesn't sound much but looked so much better.

got the bulbs today, but due to the random weather only managed to get the side repeaters changed and the side lights.
side lights giv a real brilliant white light and look awesome compared to the standard filament bulb.
will keep u posted with how i get along with the rest

fitted the bulbs today, look brilliant but got 2 problems:
(1) Indicators flash too quickly, like wen a bulb has gone
(2) Like Messiah stated, ABS warning light comes on but the brakes didnt seem to b affected.
the site i got them from offers a solution: u buy sum "load resistors" and wire them to the indicators to help them return to the normal flash speed. i am gonna try a DIY method- will let u kno how i get on
in the mean time heres how they lookin:
