Lambda votlage question
Does anyone know if a lambda sensor gives off a wave form? I connected a voltmeter to the plug in the engine bay to get a reading and at switch poss 1, it doesn't give anything when the engine is idleing, the readings fluctuate between 00.2v and 0.76v.
Connections were made between black wire on the lambda and the neg terrminal on the battery.
Cheers
Simon

Yours sounds about right... On idle it shoud be very approximatly be a sinewave with a 1Hz frequency a "peak" of just under 1V and a trough of just over 0V
http://www.picotech.com/auto/wavefor..._zirconia.html has some nice pics and a detailed explanation.

Sorry that figure should have readf 0.02v for the lower running reading.
In that case what controls hot idle on this car. Changed the maf, and if the lamda's ok I'm fresh out of ideas for my rough running. (non turbo).
