Question car holding back after cold air kit fitted

hi have made a cold air kit for my 94 wrx ra...when fitted it worked fine till the car came on boost hard, then it seems to hesitate and bang through all gears like its hit a brick wall,is this because it has alot more cold dense air coming through the maf sensor..???? original thread is on drivetrain under homemade cold air kit, please read if you need more info on the cold air kit....the other thing os the pipe coming from the boost solenoid that normally goes back into resonator box has been left out,or does this have to draw a vacumn>>????thanks nigel any ideas...

Sounds like Fuel cut to me, have you got a boost gauge, what's it boosting...!!!

If it is Fuel cut then simply fitting a Manual boost controller £30 (dawes, GBE) and use it to turn the boost down a bit...

Or the best result would be a custom remap, unichip etc etc, but this will be anywhere upwards of £500 mapped...

HTH,

G.

I think you will have to put the pipe back on from the boost solenoid,as i think(but dont quote me) you will find that the ecu isnt seeing the correct values from the solenoid and will cause fuel cut.

easy

After posting a thread asking about making my own cold air kit John Banks advised me that it could well disturb the readings from the MAF, so mush so that a remap may well be needed.
