Default Help Me PLEASE!!!!

Iv just bought a Impreza wrx (95)

Im new to the Impreza thing as its the first one i have ever had!
It is a Jap version and i havent yet had it SVA'd as its just arrived today, when i drive it and hit boost it goes fine but as i near past 5,000rpm the car starts to cut out and struggle to carry on, its like the turbo just switchs off and it just stays there and jerks about!

What could be the problem, any ideas!

Also does anyone know of anyone who has a good aircon compressor available, any decent second hand parts specialists for subarus out there!

Hi

Is it like a miss-fire or a sudden stop then re-start? can you drive though it?

Its not a missfire, its like im getting power and then when i hit 5,000rpm it kinda cuts out but carrys on without that power surge but sometimes it kicks back in!

Something aint defianetly right!

Any ideas

What mod's has the car got? this will help some of the real brain's on here give you some advice sound's like fuel cut but to be hitting it at 5000rpm does it have a manual boost controler fitted? just guessing really but get it btt

I had a miss-fire after modding and that was the coil pack

Spark plugs need replacing maybe, Dirty boost solonoid, Faulty Maf even.

From what i know the car has a Cat back exhaust, thats about it, the car has been sitting about for atleast 1 to 2 months!

Im going to give it a general service like spark plugs, air filter and oil change if that doesint help then what else should i look at other then boost solenoid and MAF!

Im absolutely clueless about these cars!

Theres a good chance its the coil packs,so do the service and when youre changing the plugs,check the coil packs (the part thats bolted ontop of the spark plugs),pull back the rubber and check for cracks around the plastic.
