Default boost solenoid?

If the solenoid is dirty what would happen? would the boost pulse or would it hit higher boost levels?

normally lower boost as it's gets stuck and prevents any air from being bled away from the actuator.

Daz, it will also pulse as this is what tends to happen on all the MY01-02 cars i have worked on.

Give them a good clean and they pull like a train again.

cheers guys, i have been over boosting alot after fitting a full decat, i put the car in test mode last night and the solenoid wasnt clicking at all so i soaked it with brake cleaner and is working now, hitting 15 psi and drops to 11, question is, if its over boosting and the solenoid is working now as soon as it see's over bosot it opens the wastegate? could this be why im not holding much boost? if i were to fit the new restrictor could i hold a better boost figure? if not why doesnt it hold more?

Cheers

Folks,

Dumb question I know(not long had my scoobie), but where is the boost solenoid situated on a 94WRX.
I aim to clean this out on mine as I checked oil level and it is over the max mark.

Cheers

Mark.

mine has been making a bit of a noise recently,I will clean it. Its been a while is it just clean with brake cleaner while the green connectors are together and fans blowing?

Bowders. If its anything like my 97 uk the solenoid for boost is on the left hand strut when looking into the engine bay, near the maf and air box. Sorry that I dont have pictures of this, but a good clean does work.

Question

Why have you connected another boost solenoid (Looks Like a Blitz) in series with the standard fitment solenoid??

Cheers

Surely the standard fitment solendoid should be disconnected if the blitz unit is in use? I know mine is while my acvr solenoid is connected!
