Default Non-subaru knock sensor location..Help

I am fitting my new knock sensor and cannot find a good location. I can see where the subaru sensor is but obviously that spot is taken.

One possible spot I found is on one of the mounting brackets for the alternator etc. This bracket is on the block, to one side and is quite near the front of the engine. Would this be OK?

I have done searches etc on this but to no avail.

Assuming you have MY00 or similar, take off the i/c, below it, on the block, is mounted a small bracket supporting a ( also small ) water pipe. Remove the bolt holding this bracket, and mount the sensor here, using a longer bolt. It's possible to do this without removing the i/c, however, if you're not sure what you're looking for, this makes things easier. The bracket you mention isn't the right location.

It is still under the TMIC, but just a little from some other earth wire, there is an empty ( M8 thread x 20 mm long ) bolt hole. Just fit it there, it's near the stock sensor but seperate .. if you follow!

Search on here for fitting pics, I know I found some last year which helped a bit.

I must have been blind the other day as I looked under the intercooler and staring up at me was an empty threaded hole that perfectly matched the bolt that came with my sensor!
