Default After fitting samcos......did you notice anything different??

Hi, ive just fitted some samco hosing (intercooler, radiator and ancillary).....but i have just been out for a drive and when on full throttle and boost there was a kind of hissing noise, like a leak.....however the turbo was not loosing boost (as far as i could tell from the guage) i was just wondering if it was a characteristic of the hoses? and you can hear more from them??? im getting a little paranoid i have to say...

I was wondering if it was just the wastegate being held open??? ive got nothing to compare it too so im a bit stuck

Any testimonials?? advice?

Neil.

Did you change the vaccum pipe feed to the brake servo as the original Subaru hose has a one way valve; if you replace this with a samco you will get a hissing noise & a wiffy pong venting into the cabin

Either take the one way valve out & place into the samco; or replace the samco with the original hose......

Hi thanks for the reply......im not 100% sure which pipes were replaced as i tended to see if the kit had one that looked the same then i would replace it....now that i look at it there are 2 pipes that i replace towards the back of the engine bay.....one nect to the brake fluid tank??? and other on the right hand side...

Do you have a number that i could call you at so as i cant seem to see a valve anywhere??

help greatly!! appreciated!!

Neil...

NEILO DANGER ALERT DANGER ALERT!!!!!!!

serious this m8 the pipe as talked about by xtremescoobies should be replaced with the orginal immediately!!!!!!!!! or the one way valve MUST BE PUT IN

if you don't when you come off HIGH boost there will be no vacuum to the servo and your brakes DONT work!!!!!!!

REPLY ASAP Very important.......

That's the little beauty, in all honesty replace with standard hose....

I've seen some people cut the valve out , slash their hands, pipe & bodywork....

Good luck

Neilo,

in the picture of your engine bay, is it the hose on the left or right that needs IMMEDIATE replacing ?

The one to the right...... if you feel the ORIGINAL pipe it has a one way valve in it.

If you take the valve out try the following (on an open road no traffic around of course)

give your car some beans and come off high boost/revs and go straight for the brakes and they ARENT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

scared the hell out of me when I was going towards my favourite right hander @ 70ish and got no brakes!!!!!

eeee the joys of modding

HOLY CRAP m8 you've left the two most difficult ones till last........

the long wiggly one (ooo-er) snakes down past the water tank, where the expansion cap is (not the header tank) the expansion metal cap Far left of the engine.

The L shaped one IIRC is along the front of the intercooler?

post a piccie of your WHOLE car engine and i'll double check against mine.

Hawk

I noticed that the car with the red pipes is an MY01+ WRX, does this brake pipe problem also apply to the MY00 car aswell??????

Got home last night, and looked at the Sambo hose in question. Had a quick feel and there seemed to be something in the hose.

Took the hose off and there is indeed a valve in it already. Checked it with the original hose I have and its the same valve in the same place.

So, I guess I'm OK

Quick Reply: After fitting samcos......did you notice anything different??
