Default incomplete dump

since i fitted a VTA dump valve, my my99 imp turbo sounds great. but sometimes, when i shift gears very quickly, the dump valve does not complete releasing air before im back in gear and back on the throttle. is this bad. normally, during normal/lazy gearshifts, the DV makes a complete dump - pssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhht. but on a quick shift, it only goes pssssh and then i am back on the throttle.

is there any problem with this incomplete dump (bad mental picture of the day)?

Put the recirc back on for an improvement in performance

Boring I know, but usually true.

And there's me thinking he was on about constipation

Sounds to me like it's doing what it normally does...the quicker you chnage the gear the shorter amount of time it opens.

Nothing wrong at all it's just the turbo spooling up if you change fast it hasnt got time to let all pressure out then valve on dv closes and turbo spools up again dont worry about it.

Yeah, I wouldn't stress about it: everything stays spinning on a fast gearchange, so it needs to dump less to prevent stall.

As for the standard dumpvalve, they leak like a sieve.
