MY01 Airbag Problem
Fitted a new STI8 interior into my MY01 WRX today. Problem is that both of the WRX seats have connections on them which I beleive are part of the airbag system.
Only the driver's STI8 seat has a connection on it which I have plugged in as normal, the cable for the passenger side is not connected and I have left it lying under the seat.
But now the airbag light is on all the time. I have tried shorting the passenger side cable to trick it into thinking it is connected but still no luck.
Anyone got any ideas please as otherwise I will have to take it to the main dealer as I don't fancy driving about with a dodgy airbag system ?
Cheers

Strange..... I fitted a new Sti 8 interior to my bugeye yesterday The things you you can buy on e-bay these days !!
My bugeye had no airbags in the seats so no problem... there is a resistor fix on scoobynet so search should be a help. I got lost at the difference between 3 and 3.3 ohm resistors but 27 pence for the bit seemed pretty cheap to me !!

Great, thanks for that Midlife !!
I did a search and found the answer. I work for an electronics company anyway so I am off to raid the stores tomorrow for some resistors. I'll get both 3 & 3.3 ohm and give the both a try.
Are you pleased with your new interior ? I had a rather dodgy leather one before so I am well happy with the result. The only problem is that the door cards got slightly damaged in transit so trying to get these replaced.
Cheers

Elliot..
Gald you are managing to fix it
Did you mean you were looking for new door cards or trying to get the delivery company / sender to replace the damaged ones ??
