Hi i have a 95 wrx my friend took it out for a spin and he said it was sluggish upto 3500rpm he said his standard uk responds a lot quicker why is this ? I only took it to powerstation 8 weeks ago they did a power run and it was 250bhp and ran 0.9 bar boost they said that was right for a standard wrx. The car seems ok after 3500rpm have a got just bad turbo lag also i have a face lift bonnet with a old style intercooler .........can anyone advise me as im new to the scooby scene..........Darren

Find out what turbo you and your friend have fitted.

The UK car may have a smaller TD04 which spools up ( gets power available from the turbo ) quicker at lower revs, but runs out of puff higher up. Your WRX may have the larger TD05 which may well have a bit of a delay in getting going at lower revs ( lag ) but works better higherup.

So your mate may be quicker earlier but you then catch up.

Of course could be the different gearing, fuel quality etc.
