Default Knock Sensor hesitation

i have read a bit about a common problem of hesitation caused from an over sensitive knock sensor. i have read about moving sensor to top of gearbox and also using a rubber washer under sensor where it is bolted down. There are also kits which electronically cure this. What is the easiest way and cheapest to cure this?
