Default dawes adjustment

what effect does drilling the hole out on the side of the dawes aprt from eliminating spiking.?

i would like ti know this too as im havin trouble with mine and sumone said that wich hole do u drill top or bottom or inside bottom piece

making the hole bigger will bring the boost in softer i beleve. but not too much bigger! i think it a 0.5mm hole to start i wouldn't go bigger than a mill, but why would you want it to come in soft lol

there's only one breather hole that should be on the wastegate side

It doesn't make the boost come in any softer, it simply helps to control boost spikes and overboost, making a more consistent and predictable boost level. If you were to compare the breather hole on the Dawes to say the GBE MkII, you'd notice the Dawes comes as 0.5mm and the GBE 1mm as standard. People who use the GBE report fewer setup problems than those who use the Dawes, and this is usually mainly down to the breather hole...
