Question Intercooler y-pipe for 03WRX?

My 03Wrx is currently running around 280hp courtesy of Tek2 and full decat. I am not sure whether I need to change the standard y-pipe with a Samco or similar.

I know prodrive do it as part of their PPP. Is it for performance sake or reliability? Do I stand to gain anything from such a change?

I'm going for a tek3 soon and the company that's doing it has advised me to change this pipe as it has a tendency to spit if boost exceeds 1 bar.

I'd replace it if I were you......
When I put an STi7 intercooler on my 01wrx I priced up individual Samco hoses direct from Samco and it worked out cheaper to buy the complete kit rather than individually.
You can get the three 01> WRX intercooler hoses from Rally Design ( www.raldes.co.uk ) for about £75 delivered to your door!! (Should make your engine bay look a little nicer too )

Good luck

Nick
