Question does anyone know how a lambda sensor actually works?

hi peeps

rite just finishing off a uni project on various sensors, have most of em sorted but stuck on how the lambda sensor actually 'works'

been told it sends pulses or just switches 'on' (logic 1) when O2 content is correct, but unsure exactly 'how'?

any help would be very much appreciated!!!

thanks
Owain
