Air Con problem
Hi Guys...tried posting this in the Electrical Forum a few days ago...but no replies, so hoping for a wider audience!
Just had my Classic for a couple of weeks, went to use the air con the other day, got clicking sound at one second intervals (relay clicking in and out), which gets faster with faster fan speeds. Also have flashing green light above aircon switch, and no air or fan blowing. No probs, diagnosed to be a blown A/C fuse (15A). Replaced this, worked a treat.
Went to switch on again yesterday, but exactly the same prob...now getting a bit concerned anticipating weeks of chasing tail, looking for the elusive needle-in-haystack.
I've read up in the service manual on the Saxon website (aircon section)...it makes mention of a relay in the aircon circuit that cuts in to "protect fuse box when full throttle applied, by means of a signal from the ECU"...or words to that effect!...going to get outside later to try and locate said relay and check, maybe its knackered?
I replaced the fuse a second time the other day...again, worked, then it didn't after a quick blat...
Has anyone had this problem before, or be able to point me in the right direction? Is this a "known" problem area on the MY98's? (Type-R with climate, if that makes a difference).
Thanks a lot for any help anyone may be able to offer!
