Default Oil leak - MOT failure

Well the MOT's crept up on me, and I have a tax renewal just after so I can't delay it! I have an oil leak but no time to fix it at the moment. Will they fail me for it?

If the oil leaks near or onto the exhaust/turbo parts/areas you are doomed. This is a common failure point on a 911 which can coat the exhaust tubes with oil from the rocker covers, a flat 6, but the Scooby is just the same!
Hope this helps James, good luck, just got mine passed!!!!!

mine passed with an oil leak,,,, onto the exhaust !!

mind you it only hit the exhaust when the car was moving

ie the wind flow pushed it back onto the exhaust...

all they noted on the mot sheet was

various oil leaks....

You should be ok,engine oil leaks are not a reason for failure in the testers manual BUT a tester could refuse to carry out the MOT if they think it is dangerous.
