Default downpipe question

are the standard downpipes the same on all classic turbo'd imprezas or was there a change in the my99 and my00 models? also, is there a difference between the impreza turbo (td04) downpipes and impreza wrx (td05) downpipes? i refer especially to the location of the O2 sensor.

The O2 sensor ( Lambda sensor ) can sit either in the headers by the driver side front wheel, or in the downpipe after the turbo.

My WRX import had / has it where the headers join, ( probably due to the sensor working properly when it is hot and the gasses are hotter here! ) but later cars / UK cars have it in the downpipe, post turbo.

Otherwise, AFAIK, the downpipe on all classic scoobies is same, UK or Jap, Wagon or saloon, and a wide neck / decat one will be great for any car!

I have been told both positions are fine, the wiring on mine would even reach the downpipe position!
