On what i think is the boost solonoid (brass looking think on drivers side strut)the nozzle on the air unit which the bottom pipe is going to had snapped. i placed a piece of tubing and placed the hose over it.

the problem is that the check engine light lit up. the hose is a loose fit, could this be restricting the air flow? or air leaking in where it snapped?
i reset the ecu after i had repaired/botched it but after about 70 miles it came back on. the car is a my95wrx

any one any ideas

sounds like the hose is leaking, and the cel light is coming on because of the extra air in the intake system. is there no way you can change the air unit. a pic would help
