Smile engine tuning question

hey there peeps, i was wondering if you could help me, i have only picked up my lovely 95 wrx, but require a few questions answered.

1. have these got remappable ecu's?
2. do k&n induction kits work well with my scoob?
3. can anyone tell me how i can get rid of the cat, ie downpipe?
4. has my car has an internal or external wastegate
5. how good are the baileys dump valve, and which one do i needs, dv26?
6. can anyone suggest a mechanic in guildford/surrey which does work on scoobies?
7. what head gasket has the car got?
8. which model engine is it?
9. wot boost level is the fuelling good for?
10. wot size injectors are on this model car?
11. wot is the best manual to get. ie haynes?
12. wot are the majour problems for these cars to watch out for?

i apologise for my lack of knowledge of this car, and will try to increase it, as this is the only car i've owned which i want to keep.

if someone could advise me of the above then i would be very very grateful.

unfortunately i am not a genius when it comes to car, and any of the above information would be great.

cheers.

on the ECU, see here

http://www.scoobyecu.co.uk/

Also do a search on scoobyecu on this board and you will find other info on them. They are about £90 IIRC, and are often quoted as being an excellent upgrade for a 95wrx

1) No. Suggest a Link or Apexi Power FC (Link from BR Developments who advertise on here)
2) Yes
3) Fit a 3" downpipe and exhaust system for good performance gains. 3" downpipe either Roger Clark Motorsport or Hayward and Scott. 3" exhaust system Revolution Motor Store www.revolution.eu.com Good value for money.
4) Turbo is probably a TD05 which has an internal wastegate.
5) Bailey recirculating dump valve or Forge recirculating dump valve. Give them the model year and they can identify the dump valve.
6) -
7) Not sure what the question is or its relevance.
Hopefully you have a standard Subaru Gasket.
8) The `95 WRX could be 220 bhp or 260 bhp and this will depend on model code. They are all GC8C 2 litres but the codes read something like : GC8C48D so P.M the relevant information if you need to know more. (look at your vin plate)
9) About 1 bar
10) 380 cc
11) An owners manual for the WRX is available from A.S Performance 0191 4103770 This is an owners manual not a workshop manual.
12) Do not run it hard when cold. It can take 10-20 miles to warm up. The water temperature is not an indication of the engine core temperature or oil temperature. Run it gently off boost for the last 3 or 4 miles before you shut it down. Frequent oil and filter changes with quality fully synthetic like Motul 300 v 15 50 or Castrol RS10 60. Run on Optimax fuel and if any hint of det run with NF. Fit a Knock Link so there can be no doubt about det and an AFR guage is advisable.
