got back home from a run to london and back and the exhaust note is really crap now, on tick over its gone from a nice deep burble to a deep drone with a kind of splatter noise in the background, on driving, its louder and naff sounding, this is on a 03 sti ppp, all the exhaust has is the ppp cat and extream scoobies {haywood and scott backbox and center pipe} any ideas

 

Hi there mate i had a similar problem with my car reecently when it was ticking over it sounded really rough, almost like it was farting!! It turned out on mine to be a cracked inlet maniford where one of the bolts had been overtightened..

gone back to normal, gave it a blat down the a12 to extream scoobies and all was fine by the time i got there, oh well just one of lifes mystries i spose.
