Default Power stering problems

Hi,

I put my car bk togeather today after changing the turbo and downpipe, and have lost the effect of power steering, it does every now and again work for a few split seconds when going from lock to lock, and makes a sound similar to the new shape mini.

There is no fluid loss that i can see, and i did not mess around with any of the pipes going to the power stering resivior when doing the work.

Any ideas

Regards
Pete

Hi Pete ,

you could have an air lock or your pump could be on its way out .

Try putting the front of the car on axle stands , make sure theres enough fluid in the resivour and steer from lock to lock with the engine off then try try it with engine running this sometimes can take 10 mins to get the air out of the system . You should see air bubbles in the resivor if theres air in your system .
If this does not work you will need a need pump which i got mine from a breakers for £110 .
I cant see that this is connected to you changing your turbo , guess its one of those things when you touch somthing on your car somthing else breaks .

nick.
