Question ecu problem

hi guys,looking for some help/advice regarding my ecu.car is a 93wrx 240bhp ,iwas told the ecu for the 260 hp would work in my car ,so i phoned around the breakers and soursed one .the guy at the breakers said it would also fit and that he had loads ,some that where <chiped>.anyway i fitted the new ecu ,my problem is the car starts and runs ok untill you boot it ,then the revs died ,engine light came on ,and massive back fire.ive took the numbers from both ecus and the chip ,can any of you guys with some ecu knowledege shed some light on this . old ecu<ooo rj8>onthe yellow part w6 226 11 aa810>on the metal part > the new ecu <000rj2> and the chip had a stiker on it <pv503 wrx> has the guy at the breakers gave me the wrong one .thanks kev

it must be the genuine 94-95 check the numbers .replace it regardless or it will break your engine.i had one put in my car 4 yrs ago fantastic .also you can have a sti 2 ecu aswelll.must get rid of that ecu.

Would be cheaper to get a scoobyecu, and safer.

read the threads i cant say everyone is happy with the results.93 94 95 engines are the same the ecu was what changed. thats safe enough for me
