Default Lambda sensor - is wire length critical?

When it comes to replacing the OEM sensor with a universal jobby, is it essential to match the wire length on the original sensor?

I ask 'cos the original on my car is only about 10cm long. It would be much easier to splice the new one in if the total wire length could be increased to, say, 15/20 cm.

Any thoughts/opinions please?

Default

It wont make any difference 15/20cm is too short to cause any kind of interference.
