Question Torque ??????

I have a good general idea of the workings of an engine, and how a turbo works... I understand the physics on HP and torque, But I'm curious of how to increase the torque figure on my STi
Prodrive state 300ft Lbs with the PPP when I ran on a RR it was around 275lbs I'm not too concerned with the figure, but when I get into the serious modding... I would like some idea on increasing the torque level...

Defo one for the engine guru's...and modders who've managed the gains...

My plan is eventualy to use the same Turbo as the Spec C and or another model rated to 400 bhp, but only run upto say 350-370, but would like the torque figure to be around the same or a little less.

Advice anyone...

You need boost or cubes to make the torque. 1.4 bar on a 2.5 can do 400 lbft approx.

On a 2.0 you will need approx 1.6 bar to get the torque you are looking for, depending on components, setup, rolling road etc etc. Just a ballpark.

VVT map playing can add nice torque above your target with only 1.35-1.4 bar mid-range tailing off to stock after 5k4....assuming no restrictions too close to turbo Time to sell the PPP and get another EcuTek mapper on the case....but lose the warranty?

I took part in the G force rolling road day a couple of months ago and managed 307 ft lbs and 317.6 BHP..
WE did struggle with temps to start off with.... initial runs were 280 bhp and 270 ft lb i think... or maybe even lower!

Im running a MY03 Sti PPP with H&S Decat pipe and rear center section pipe and ITG air filter and thats all!

So all in all was pretty pleased, the guys at G force did say my boost was all over the shot though! lol

There was a chap with another MY03 sti and he got 299 bhp I think and a little lower than that on torque...

Dowser, can you get 350-370 lbft on a 2.0 with only 1.35-1.4 bar or are we talking at cross purposes?
