Just a quick question. Has anyone changed the insert in their HKS SSQV? If so how easy was it? Has anyone used the purple one and was there a noticible change in noise or is it just a gimmick?

I did this on a 96 wrx, five or so years ago now.

Fitting was straightforward, just be careful not to loose any of those tiny little hex headed grubscrews. The purple "vane" was a big improvement. It made the SQV noise much lower frequency and , IIRC, more quiet, and, all in all, less gay.
