Default Flywheel lightening

Is it ok to lighten the original standard flywheel on my95 import wrx or is this dodgy ground? If not where can I get a new lightened flyweel and how much?
About to fit a Borg and Beck clutch and am on a tight budget.

Any info or advice would be great.

Cheerz.

you can skim your flywheel but this won't lighten it by much but it will weaken it, or try a 6.8kg scoobyclinic flywheel & £303+vat

hope this is of help

It's possible to get the OE flywheel lightened, but it's a job that must be done properly. The last thing you want is the fly disintegrating and chopping your feet off.

There are plenty of aftermarket flywheel suppliers, at a range of weights and prices check out the usual suspects for options!
