My stereo was working intermitently for a while and then stopped altogether. I went out and bought a nice new head unit plugged it in and it lights up and works fine but no sound at all from the speakers,was wondering if anyone has any clues.The old head unit was tested and works fine,so i can't understand why the speakers dont work, Any ideas greatfully awaited...Kazlo

 

You can test the speakers by measuring their resistance (disconnected) with a digi multi-meter.. should be around 4Ohm... or with a single D sized battery.. tap the + and - speaker wires onto the battery and the speakers will 'pop' safely. This can also be used to check the correct polarity !
