Thumbs up QUESTION: Full De-Cat for a MY98 ???

I just need some advice from someone:

I currently have a Magnex de-cat centre section for a MY98. I am seriously considering removing the other cat (full de-cat).

1) Is this a good or bad idea for a MY98?
2) How will the car run if I go ahead with this?
3) I currently have a Magnex 6x4 tailpipe - will this be any louder?
4) The only other mods I have is a Blitz air filter, TurboXS dump valve...
5) What is the guide price / best make to go for?

I thank you in advance.
:-)

Definately a good idea.

Low down driveability will be increased immensly. Where she currently feels a bit crap before the turbo is giving full bananas, this will become much less noticeable after decat.

Much louder, the cat in the down pipe makes a v good silencer.

<FLAMESUITON>I think as long as you go for an open neck stainless steel downpipe you'll find them much of a muchness<FLAMESUITOFF>

I got mine from Hayward & Scott

Did this mod to my 98 when I had it - the difference was fearsome. Much much quicker, better throttle response etc etc It was noisier, but in a good way, a VERY good way.

Only problem I had was overboosting (fuel/ignition cut) after the exhaust was fitted - but this was quickly sorted by cleaning out the boost solenoid

I had a full scoobysport system btw, IMHO one of the best out there
Have fun

Tim
