Is there anything that can't be discussed on the forum Andy? Always better to talk here where possible as other people can then read (and hopefully benefit from) the info.

Suffice to say though that for the money these things go for, my opinion is that they're an excellent product, and more than up to standard/mildly modified installations.

http://www.autospares-group.com if you're after the supplier details.

cheers mate, correct theres nothing that cannot be discussed on the forum.
I am concerned about the limits of this clutch.
At the moment I am at best 280bhp (at best) but theres a little more to come, say 300 bhp/290 lb-ft.
I have an option of a branded product for £150 + the dreaded (details to be kept offline).
however, if the B&B is man enough then I might as well save the extra fifty +.
the problem for me is where to get it fitted, I live near Portsmouth and dont have a respected independant close enough, and Im not paying main dealer prices.
cheers for now

I fitted a borg and beck to mine also bought from Autospares, and arrived next day, now done 20,000miles on it and in the last 5,000miles the car has had some extra mods.. if anything the clutch judder has not returned as bad as it was but did start at about 10,000miles into this clutch, brought on whilst towing..
but seems to have gone again now..

When I fitted it the car had a ScoobyECU and H&S decat exhaust and a HKS induction kit..

Now has Link ECU, FMIC, 550injectors, large K&N, uprated fuel pump and FPR, ported headers etc.. haven't had it dyno'd yet but assuming around 300 somewhere at a guess.

Still not slipping yet..

Once it slips I think I'll fit a www.lateralperformance.co.uk clutch..

I'm at 320bhp and around 300lb/ft torque Andy, and the clutch is so far coping without issue (bout 7K miles on it so far). I'd have no hesitation in advocating one for this sort of output.

Thumbs up

ill buy that for a dollar.

thanks guys, one B&B clutch coming up.

the oem clutch has always let out a bit of a whiff going up mechanics ramps and high rev launches, but this morning i thought it slipped when on boost, seemed to fly up the rev range when on full boost/wot. (or certainly more so than the speedo indicated).

now then chaps, how much should I be looking at for a mechanic/garage to fit it for me?
Any tip offs for something local to Portsmouth?
thanks for your (invaluable) help

Andy

I think the going rate when I looked was around £150ish..
I did it myself in the end.

I'd travel up to Reading and get Rally Colin to do it, if you don't want to do it yourself.

Colins number is 07771 767874

Yes GC8 is the classic..

Presume you have an Import of something and hence struggling??

Just say it is a 1996 UK Turbo.. they knew which one for that when I ordered mine.. I think the flywheel changed size in 99 but all the same before then.
