Post the pics old boy, your sign language leaves a lot to be desired...
BTW, "1 inch wide" - are you referring to the overall diameter of the tubing, or the bore?

Can't immediately think where they'd be from. Difficult to judge exactly how big they are from the pic. Only candidates I can really think of would be the oil cooler supply and return pipes. Have you checked to see if they're the right size and length for that?
It could simply be that while Samco do a single set of hoses for the Version 3/4/5/6, that a couple of hoses only fit the 3/4, and a couple only fit the 4/5.

I wouldn't worry about the waste of money aspect. It could well be that Samco find it cheaper to produce a single set (thus consolidating their warehousing and stock codes) than they do two, or more, different ones for the different MY cars...
In any case, don't jump too far down their throats until you've looked at the oil cooler!

I think they might be the ones for the water pump..
Look under the righthand side of the car where the bottom hose goes from rad to coolant pump.. I think the two pipes got on the pump to block pipes etc..
Bast*rd to change and mine are still in the packet

Dave,
Is this the kit (part TCS87C)?
If so, then that's for <= MY98. I had looked at a Coolant kit for my RB5, but could never find one listed. Could be the case that it does fit later models, but you'll have some extra bits
The engine pics in that other post are all pre 99 cars as far as I can tell (sure GM will correct me).

Easy... they are for the ISCV on the MY97/98 cars. The 'bent' one actually comes of the valve and the straight piece is where it attaches to the inlet pipe. The MY99/00 casr do not have the same sort of idle control (they have stepper motor), as such these are redundant for you..... paper weight maybe

I am also undertaking the samco hose route this weekend, and posted this in drivetrain...
can anybody shed some light for me?
Andy
I am going to undertake the fitment of my samco hose set this weekend.
I have an STi i/c on a 99uk car.
I have got the STi (99/00) turbo kit and the uk (99/00) coolent sets.
Is there any advice you people can offer when it comes to fitting them to my car?
thanks in advance.
