PROBLEMS SETTING FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR
#1
I had an adjustable fuel pressure regulator fitted and it was set at approx 3.3bar. The car was stuttering at 5k upwards and I thought it was running lean. After a bit of fiddling it seems that it was too rich, so the pressure was gradually decreased until the stuttering stopped (2.9bar).
What I am not sure about is could it still be running too rich even though the revs have smoothed out.
ie..the stuttering stopped st 2.9bar so would it be sensible to knock it back another 0.1bar or is it best to run as much fuel as I can get away with. Would the performance be affected running just 0.1bar away from too much fuel.
Thanks in advance.

If you have a std ecu then the pressure needs to be set at 2.6 bar at hot idle with vac connected, your fueling should then be checked for correctness to be safe. You will be overfueling at that pressure (2.9) with the std ecu in place unless you have a level of modification that has leaned the car out. At 3.3 you were choking the car with excess fuel.

The hot idle with the vac connected is now 2.4bar. It was 2.7 when it was choking. The figures I gave before were with the vac disconnected.
Mods are:-
Scoobyecu set at 16psi
Uprated fuel pump
Full de-cat
k&n panal filter
VTA adjustable dump valve
Uprated fuel pressure regulator
