diagnostic equipment? bought an AD200 SCAN TOOL- from advanced-diagnostics.co.uk but does not read legacy gearboxes. does not work with wrx gearboxes as well. cars are 95- 97 i am working on.
anyone recommed a good scan tool that would work with pre 99 cars predominantly ?
how well does the select monitor compare ?
any ideas ?
thanks

The product you've bought seems to be an ODB/ODBII tool in its basic design.

Unless you were told by Advanced Diagnostics that this tool is able to speak Subaru Select protocol, it won't be a lot of use with older Imprezas unfortunately, as the Select protocol used by cars of the age you're talking about is proprietary.

It would work with MY01< cars, as they're ODBII compliant, but that isn't the question you asked...
