Question

Looking for some advice here folks.
I am looking to buy a second hand STi 8, but am in two minds whether to go for the jap model or a ppp'd uk model. The UK model has its advantages in that it is more readily insurable but not sure of the other major differences between the cars apart from the adjustable diff. Would a PPP'd UK car be close to that of the Jap model in performance terms?? are the interiors similar ?

Thanx in advance.
Kevin.

interior is pretty much the same, it depends which model of japanese car you go for, main differences are

twin scroll turbo
standard somewhere between 280-310bhp
forged pistons
crankshaft
most engine internals - making it good for much more bhp without having to change them

rear windscreen wipe.
dccda, bbs wheels, privacy glass, hid lights all come as optional extras the rest of the stuff above is standard

i think thats most of it, i think myself the japanese spec is much better idea, and l and v only charge same as uk sti for me, so there is nothing in it

hope that helps

Thumbs up

Cheers Jason,
Sounds like the Jap model may be the one to go for, think it also runs the new model engine where the STi UK is still on the V7 engine.

Jason,

Don't forget to mention front Suretrac is not coming as std... but part of the DCCD package. The basic set up is open diff.

yes sorry forgot that, so you only get front suretrac if you order the dccda, lol otherwise you get the same as the wrx, but the rear comes as standard
