can anyone tell me the difference, just by looking, between an ecu for an sti8 and an sti8 prodrive upgrade.Is it obvious like it says prodrive on it or will it be a different number or something.

Hi,
Prodrive ecu (for the STi8), is your car ecu after remap.
It (the ecu) should be marked with a supplied prodrive sticker.

 

I think the prodrive ecu for the sti8 is a std one with a remap.
When they supply the kit to the dealer the ecu supplied is a remapped std ecu, then your origonal is sent to prodrive to be remapped for another customer and so the cycle continues.

edited to say prodrive put a nice sticker on it when it's been remapped.
