Question

I'm looking to change my injectors this week and was wondering if there is anything I should look out for whilst doing it? Or is it just a case of pull them out jam the new ones in and that's job done?

Cars an MY96 (pre-facelift) changing from 380s to 440s ready for new ecu.

Cheers for any help.

Ade

PS if anyone in Northampton has done this before and desperately wants to give me a hand I would be very grateful (a few pints worth )

Do you have the required adapters to fit them?
Pavlo sells them.

You'll need a set of mole grips to pull the old injectors out and lots of engine rocking pulling power.. lol..

Other than that there is nothing to ir really.

Thumbs up

They came off of another car the same age so I'm guessing they'll drop straight in....... Another one of those "that won't take long jobs" lol

I'll post once I've taken all the skin off of my knuckles to say how "easy" it was then

No need for mole grips, big pliers or brute force, just a little knowledge.

So they must be phase 1 440s then.

You have to remove the 8mm bolts either side of the injector and the cap comes off.

Remove the electrical plug.. pinch on the end and I think the bit that moves and unconnects is at the bottom edge furtherest from the injectors..

Then sprayed WD40.. then attached the mole grips at the bottom of where the plug was connected to and gave them a wiggle to get the WD40 to seap in a bit..

The pulled hard on them.. there is a rubber seal that usually flies off.. so watch where it lands..

They are fairly stubbon to get back in.. but a bit of brute force should sort it.

I removed the fuel rails and used a suitable sized socket to gentle drive them out. Also allowed me to complete parallel fuel mod.
