my lights seem to pulse when the engine is running, then when i put the main beam on the car dies also funning noise in time with the pulsing coming from the engine

 

sounds possibly the alternator has gone pete tong

 

Or an earthing problem...

check the condition of the earths..

Take a jump lead and attach to neg on battery and the engine and suspension turret and see if it cures it..
if so then replace all the earth straps.
