Thumbs up

This is out of a 1993 WRX Scooby we have at work with a blown engine. Is this a Special ECU or what. Could it of been the Cause to the Engine Boom!!!!

Thank You

Mines ECUs have remapped boost, fuelling, ignition and rev limiters. They are mapped for 100RON, so there is the cause of your blow up.

If you remove the cover and take a photo inside, the ScoobyECU guys would be able to tell you whether you can return the ECU to standard by modifying a link on the circuit board and removing an EEPROM.

Without a knocklink I would be very wary.

A Knocklink won't save it, it will tell you its being damaged though, if you decide to use it then the car MUST be run on at least 100 ron fuel but ... more significantly, since the car as std was mapped for that and this is enhanced you SHOULD use 102 ron fuel, the Mines ecu's have a rep for agressive maps. If run on 102 with a Knocklink installed it may be useable. Best thing is to replace with a std un-modified ecu
