WRX03 Rear demister
#1
People,
How long is it supposed to take to completely demist your rear window from cold. It takes on average 20mins for mine. I've placed my hand on the rear window to see if its warm (after 10mins of being on) and it stone cold. Can anyone explain this or do I have a fault? Is it supposed to heat up like the side mirrors?
Comments appreciated.

I have the same problem in my01 uk300 ive just learned too live with it. i think its just a crap system. I think we should be looking out the front window anyway! lol. if u find it is a fault let me know as mine is incredibly slow too. ty

I think that being as the wires inside the glass are finer, it takes longer to heat up and clear, but it also depend on how much dampness there is on the outside as well. I have found that by wiping the outside of the rear screen, it takes less time to clear the inside then, as it is only clearing a bit of condensation.

Dudes.. its simple...
You need to turn on your A/C - that will clear the mist off the rear windows in no time. Setting it to defrost and down to your feet seems to clear it for me
Winter = A/C on all the time otherwise all that happens is the front and rear window mist up all the time

..switched the demister on this evening (with a misted window) and it cleared within a few minutes... so its obviously doing something. However it still misifies me how this works when the window doesn't appear to get warm ?
My old Vauhall Astra rear window used to get very warm when I turned the demister on.
Its a mystery...
