Anyone help with spoilers?

Been looking at various companies and their spoilers and am completely confused.
Is there any drawback in what the spoiler is made from? i.e. Pure fibreglass, FRP (fibreglass reinforced plastic), GRP (glass reinforced plastic), or are these the same, Carbon Fibre (obviously lighter and more expensive).
Anything that should be known about the different materials? Or are they all much a muchness?
Looking at an STI 5 one. Anyone who has a third party one, how is yours secured? With body bonding stuff, bolts, or both? Most seem to have an extra 7 or 8 bolts to secure it (in addition to the standard 4 on a UK MY00).
Any recommendations from anyone?
