Thought this may be of interest to anyone who has imported a subaru from Belgium and is not too sure about their 2nd and 3rd year warranty, BTW this came from the Belgian importer. It kind makes the only reason for buying a uk sourced car seem a bit thin, doesn't it :-
Please find translation of or warranty booklet
Subaru Belgium accords a warranty of 12 months (limited 100.000km) for each new Subaru car, imported by Subaru Belgium, maintained by a Subaru dealer.
Warranty of one-year starts at first registration date or first use as demo car.

Subaru Assistance is only valid for cars registered, and stays registered in Belgium and Luxembourg.
Warranty procedure
1) Customer visits an official Subaru-dealer that defines the demand for cross border warranty.
2) Dealer passes cross border warranty-demand to his distributor (=distributor of repairer country).
3) Repairer country passes the demand to the seller country (in this case Subaru Belgium).
4) Seller country approves or disapproves the claim and passes information to the repairer country.
5) Repairer country advises dealer who takes action.

Glen,
Excellent piece of work - did you translate from the French or the Flemish?
Decoding the last section, does that mean if you have a warranty problem you:
1)take it to a Subaru dealer in UK.
2)Subaru dealer informs IM
3)IM contacts Subaru Belgium
4)Subaru Belgium approves/disapproves & informs IM
5)IM tells dealer carry out work
I wonder what the extended warranty does not cover (probably most things! )
Very valuable
Cheers
Mike

the document is exactly as I was sent it from the Belgian importer, ie, it was written in english. Yes, I think that is how I interpret the last section, may be a little more long winded than IM's warranty procedure but you are covered all the same.
If you read the text it tells you what is not covered in the relevant sections.
