white dials

Has anyone had any probs when fitting white dials?
i've just fitted a set and now my rev counter wont work properly, it moves up very slowly and then just stays there until the engine has been stood a while.
When i removed the speedo needle, just the needle came off, when i removed the rev counter the shafr came out as well- does this mean i've knackered it? and if so who fixes them?
Cheers

Robby,
Don't worry mate, same thing happened to me with the shaft coming out
It's a bit of trial and error. Did you mark exactly where the needles come to rest(after lifting over the stops) before moving them?
If you put them back even slightly out, there'll be a problem. I actually marked them out and still got problems. The car ticked over at 3000 RPM and my speedo overread by about 10 mph.
Your rev counter problem sounds like what happened to me. Take it all apart again and with the needle resting on the stopper, give it a decent flick so it goes round past half way. It should move up and come down again back to the stopper. If it goes up and sticks, the spindle is in the wrong place. Just keep resighting it until it's right.
One thing that really annoys tho' is this. You can guarantee you'll get it all back together and you'll knock it as you're fitting it into the dash and one of the needles will fall off its stopper
Give me a shout if you need any more help.
