Loose Roof Rail

I have a slightly loose roofrail on my MY00. Can anyone advise me how to get to the bolts without recking the roof lining.
BTW, local Subaru dealer told me I'm not covered by the warranty because it's only an adjustment, if it had fallen off or broke, that would have been different.
