I am not overly worried about this as my previous Scooby did it as well but when ticking over when cold every 10seconds or so there is a metal ***** sound (best as I can think to describe it)
both cars are MY96 UK Wagons... with 96,000miles on the previous one and 79,000miles on current one....
Anyone know what it is?
It is similar to the heat shield tick when switch off after a blast but different so I suspect it is them flexing as they heat up and get vibrated... any problems with removing heat shields? will I set anything alight?

My MY99 wagon does the same, I certainly wouldn't remove the heatshields, they serve to allow the cat to warm up quickly, prevent the exhaust setting fire to long grass when you park up in summer, prevent cold water destroying the cat etc etc
