Hi all,

Could someone tell me if the heat shield around the clutch reservoir on an MY00 is nessessary? Yes I would think or it would not be there! All the heat from the turbo heating up the clutch fluid etc, etc. Maybe I am exaggerating.
During a pre-service roadtest regarding my.... NOISE! (Please see my other post) I told the mechanic and he said it will be okay without it. Is he correct? What about summer? (The whole 3 weeks of it we have in this country )
You're probably thinking where is the heat shield right? Well, I don't know I guess the bolt worked itself out and it fell off. Maybe it was not tightened up properly when I had the new turbo fitted.
I wasn't even advised on the service that this was missing (different mechanic to roadtest) Only about the 3 tyres with nails in.

Scotty.

PS: If you are reading this, thanks for the 4 Toyo's Adyhicut.

Hi, yes it matters so replace it and no they can't fall off even if the bolt is missing cos they are latched into the bulkhead and you have to move sideways and at an angle to release ... and that bolt is into an aluminium casting and is usually a b to remove so ... someone took it off and didn't put it back in all probability.
