Hi,
Whilst cleaning my MY00 I noticed a small rubber pipe (about 10mm dia) hanging from a black box under the passenger side dash into the passenger stairwell. Surely this should be connected to something?
Any ideas?

I know exactly where this goes...
While i was fitting my alarm into my 98 impreza i came across this pipe, it goes out into the engine bay.
Pull back the carpet, at the front next to the centre console, you should see a rubber gromet that goes into the engine bay, just push it back through..
There you go, SORTED.......

Neil,
As Greg describes it sounds like it could be the drain tube for the air con (if you have it).
Same on the GT4 and very easy to pull out of the grommet when fitting stereos/alarms etc. Downside is that it will eventually drip water all over the footwell instead of out into the engine bay.
That is assuming that this is what it is...
Cheers
