Have you checked that the radio cage is securely clamped in place, as the cages on both the OE and subsequent after market head units I had were loose and caused a squeeky kind of rattle, until I folded over a couple more of the clamps that hold the cage in place.

Hope you find it soon.

My my00 rattles from the center consol, it sounds more from the blower unit though, not worried as getting a/c fitted next month so hopefully that should sort the prob out.

hi
yes it is even on my MY00 Aust Rex. Try and move the facia which is around the stereo. It seems to be the two clips which hold the bottom of the facia. I just move the facia a little with my fingers by touching near the cig lighter. The rattle will eventually go away.
Until u decide to install a new headunit and then when u put it back together it decides to come back for awhile
