Has anyone else been suffering from noticeable hesitation when accelerating this weekend.
I am aware of the whole the hotter the weather the worse it gets thing butuntil this weekend I have not noticed it as bad.
Three things have changed within the last week.
1. I had a 30k service.
2. I filled up with BP SUL.
3. I hoovered out a load of dead flies from the intercooler and armed with a toothpick tried to straighten out many of the fins.

What is the most likely reason for this hesitation? Is it the weather? Is there anything I could have done to screw up airflow?
Any thoughts or things to check?
I have just filled up again and it seems a bit better but still seems iffy.

Ahhhh humidity, the destroyer of car performance along with hot weather, but hot's not as bad.
I was out both days and could tell when the humidity was coming because the car would hesitate longer and accelerate slower and took longer throught the gears.
The Jag XJ220 can loose as much as 80+ BHP on hot days.

IMO you don't have anything to worry about. Another reason I like cooler weather.

It is just a bit odd that I have not really noticed it (this bad anyway) since I've had the car which is almost a year. It just seemed odd it started happening straight after the service. Paranoia was starting to set in...

you could fit a I/cooler Splitter to aid efficiency........

Are you sure the BP SUL is not the cause of your hesitation? I normally fill my '93 WRX with Shell, and have noticed other brands of SUL fuel can cause hesitation - even though they are all supposedly made to the same BS standard. Having said that, obviously outside temperature does have an effect - most recently noticed during my visit to Le Mans when it was over 30 deg C.

Try filling with your regular fuel and see what happens (the weather is cooler now too).
