Recently fitted a Midland impreza decat downpipe to my 94 WRX. Removed a braided steel hose from original downpipe (think this is the lamda) and left it off. Should I have refitted this to the new decat pipe as it has a blanked off hole near the manifold?

It is a 'Cat on Fire' Sensor which isnt needed if the cat is removed.

Nice one, thanks for that. The Japanese are becoming very thoughtful towards houshold pet accidents these days.

If you get a CEL or cat warning light on the dash, follow the wire up to near the air box and unplug it there to stop the warnings!
