Hi there.

I have a bailey evo dump valve fitted to my 95 WRX (PE phase 1, kn cone, legalis-r exhaust).

I have recently noticed the 'blow-by' effect coming from the dump valve (basically oil coming out).

I have been told that this is normal and are symptoms of having a dump valve. I either have to take it off or wait for a oil catch tank/breather system to become available.

any comments welcome.

Mark.

Or maybe just not overfill the oil? Maybe if you drop the oil level to about halfway between empty and full it may help, unless you have just overfilled the car by accident. Check the oil level, if it is much over full you can cause problems in the engine.

Mark, who told you it was normal ... because its not, the EVO dump valve was designed specifically to stop that happening.

Check the vacuum connection to the valve to ensure there are no leaks.

Bob,

Thanks for the reply.

So, where exactly does the oil come from and why? I thought the dump valve was supposed to vent air?
