ECU Techy question

As I am 'playing' 
with my ECU at present I have checked for ya. J1 may look like a resistor but is purely a 'link' of zero Ohms. This is on a MY95WRX W6 ecu, I am pretty sure J1 in the other Pre-97 ECU's are the same.
