Hi guys, i want to take the chip out of my MY93 ECU but the resistor J1 has not only been cut but totally removed so could anyone possibly give me the resistor value please.

As I am 'playing' with my ECU at present I have checked for ya. J1 may look like a resistor but is purely a 'link' of zero Ohms. This is on a MY95WRX W6 ecu, I am pretty sure J1 in the other Pre-97 ECU's are the same.

it is just a zero ohm resistor..

replace with a link or a switch

I'll second that... 0 ohms so any old bit of wire will do.
